Developing a cultural trust's fundraising skills and capacity

Client: Angus Alive Culture & Leisure Trust

Angus Alive commissioned Culture Radar in 2020 to develop a training and support package focusing on recovery and resilience funding applications in the short term, and informing long term fundraising and development skills requirement.


The bespoke programme developed for Angus Alive included:

  • An introduction to fundraising principles and tasks
  • Mentoring the senior leadership team through a live application process
  • Supporting relationship building and information gathering with key sector funders
  • Training sessions and activities for the team to shape a compelling ‘ask’ and fulfil key requirements of funding applications
  • Reporting to Angus Alive’s leadership recommending priorities for its fundraising and capacity building skills development


The Angus Alive team were successful in accessing funding from a variety of national and local funds and programmes which resourced essential recovery activity.
