Reviewing the role, visibility and impact of International Cultural Heritage Protection

20 May 2021

Client: Department of Digital, Culture, Media & Sport

Culture Radar provided research support to international cultural consultant Robert Palmer to deliver an independent review of DCMS’s International Cultural Heritage Protection Programme.

The aim of the review was to develop a better understanding of the value of cultural heritage protection to Her Majesty’s Government (in particular its value for cultural diplomacy, soft power and conflict resolution) and the impact and visibility of this work in the international cultural heritage protection field.

The resulting report, Champions of International Cultural Heritage Protection: Review of the Role, Visibility, Policy Impact and Partnership Building Efforts of DCMS in the Delivery of International Cultural Heritage Protection, was published to internal government advisors in June 2021.
