A sustainable future for heritage and culture in Moray

23 January 2020

Client: Discover Moray’s Great Places

“On behalf of the partnership, I would like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you for all of Culture Radar's work, which has been excellent and exceeded our expectations. I hope there will be further opportunities to work with you again in the future.” Reni Milburn, Economic Growth & Regeneration Manager, Moray Council

Cultural Radar worked with the National Lottery Heritage Funded Discover Moray’s Great Places with the Moray Council and their local and national partners to research, consult and co-design a sustainability strategy for heritage in the region.

The project brought together and developed relationships with partners and stakeholders including Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Moray Speyside Tourism, Museums Galleries Scotland, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Creative Scotland, University of the Highlands and Islands, and many independent and voluntary heritage and culture groups and organisations.

Following sector-wide consultation, a vision and strategic framework was developed successfully writing heritage and culture into Moray’s economic development case-making for the first time, and put in place an actionable route map and plan for local leadership and investment.
